What is a reply guy on X (Twitter)?
A reply guy is an account whose visible activity is mostly replies to larger accounts, originally a derogatory term for men who reflexively reply to the same (often women's) posts with unsolicited input. In growth circles the term has drifted to also describe the deliberate 'reply strategy': farming visibility by being early and clever under big accounts' posts.
The strategy version works on a real mechanic: replies under a viral post are seen by that post's audience, so a sharp early reply can collect thousands of impressions and a stream of profile visits that an unknown account couldn't earn on its own timeline. Done with actual substance, it's a legitimate cold-start tactic.
